I am the Red-Rock-Gypsy ~ from red rock hiking in northern Arizona & southern Utah, fourteen years living next to Nevada's Valley of Fire & lots of time in California's Red Rock State Park ~ my turf is now Sedona, Arizona, Red Rock County! Yippee!!! Oh yes, I'm the Gypsy-Cowgirl, too. I love the American Southwest; my home, by choice... whether in Arizona or on the Colorado ranch. The main theme for August is Stability-Instability. When some unexpected event is thrown into your organized life, it de-stabilizes your order of things. In these times and in the larger picture, this is a good thing.
However, at some point the chaos around the instability needs to move back into some kind of order – preferably a new configuration and preferably not run by the same old patterns.
A journey into the untamed back-country of Arizona provides the type of experience that resonates with the entire family. A ride on the Verde Canyon Railroad is equal parts excitement and romance: perfect for boys and girls. Trains also offer a rich educational experience (but mom and dad may want to keep that their little secret). Kids grow up fast, the train travels slowly.
If you do nothing else to say good-bye to summer, take one day for a Family-Time Adventure by booking passage on Verde Canyon Railroad. When our conductor yells, “All aboard,” he’s referring to all of your family.
Full Moon is Sunday July 25 at 7:37 PM Mountain Daylight Time. The container from which you operate your daily life is being stretched and worked; you are being asked by spirit to step up to the plate. This is the time of giving birth to a new way of being and, as in real birth, there is no going back.
If you are in crisis, step up to the plate. Be honest, tell the truth, enjoy the ride, do something today that marks a new power in you. Say yes to something spontaneous and leave some room for spirit to bring you an unexpected gift.

July 11, 2010 ~ With the thundered that rumbled through the night and today’s rainstorms, I looked -up Sedona’s 10=day weather forecast and was happy to see daily cloudy skies and thunderstorms scattered through-out the period. It made me curious about the exact meteorologic conditions that causes this interesting weather affect across the Southwest. Thanks to Arizona Vacation Planner for most of the following data. More scientific references can be found at ASU School of Geographical Sciences & Urban Planning.
